Sánchez told CNN from his Washington, D.C., home about charitable work, space travel, and their relationship in their first interview in November 2022. she and Bezos grew.

The couple had just given Dolly Parton the Bezos Courage & Civility Award when they spoke. A $100 million grant is granted to a person they believe is improving the world.

Sánchez, 53, a former Emmy-winning journalist from Albuquerque, New Mexico, cites her humble beginnings for her motivation.

The mother of three gave $1 million to This Is About Humanity, which visits migrant families and builds educational learning spaces for their children at the US-Mexico border.

Sánchez, vice president of the Bezos Earth Fund, travelled to Colombia with Gabon to pledge $10 billion to rehabilitate Africa, fight climate change, and conserve environment.

Sánchez’s desire to give back comes at a moment of great division in America.

Sánchez and billionaire Bezos wanted to bring “a little light” to problem-solvers who choose camaraderie over conflict.

“We want to amplify their voices because negative voices seem to be amplified in this world,” she stated.

Astronaut Billionaire Bezos, founder of Blue Origin, envisions a path to space for everyone who desire it.

I think people can go to space. I’ll demonstrate. The Wright brothers flew a little plane… Mr. Bezos said the Wright brothers would chuckle if you told them a 787 could carry 400 people 100 years from now.

Sánchez plans to visit space in 2023. Sánchez smiled and remarked, “It will be a great group of women.”

Admire each other

Ordinary couples showed admiration for one other in the interview.

Billionaire Bezos called Sánchez “the most generous person, with the kindest heart I have ever met” and his girlfriend his “inspiration”.

“She never missed a birthday. Her birthday present network is vast. Just a little example, he said.

Both joked that their Saturday night was “typical.”

“We can be a bit boring,” Ms. Sánchez laughed. The situation is usual. Children join us for dinner. Fun and wonderful discussion always accompany it. There was a lot of conversation with 7 people. We then watched a film. That movie was hard to find.”

We probably spend more time choosing films than necessary’, Bezos said.

Sánchez said they like flying when not working on humanitarian projects.

A licenced pilot, Sánchez launched Black Ops Aviation in 2016. The first female-owned aerial filming and production company focuses on television and electronics.

“I also learned how to fly a helicopter,” millionaire Bezos smiled. “She (Sánchez) is a terrible backseat pilot.”

“I realised when I sat in the back of the helicopter while he was flying, I could just look out the window and enjoy the view,” Sanchez laughed. “I’d say, ‘No, no. Get up. Alright. Okay, slow down. But he’s great.”

To “keep the fire alive” in their relationship, Sánchez said they’ve become “really great companions”.

“We also have a lot of fun together,” Sánchez stated. “And we love each other…” We have high regard for each other and are the grave.
